2015 WORLD CHAMIONSHIP IN PARIS

It was the 35th time that the international crème de la crème of pure-bred Arabians was hosted in Paris. The World Championship took place on 27 – 29 November as part of the Salon du Cheval. The best among the best faced each other to compete for the highest awards.

There were marvelously moving moments as well as disappointments. Torrential applause as well as surprising decisions of the jury.

Like every year spectators waited for the entry of the dragon, the horse that would sway the public. This time could be no different. Michałów’s Equator (QR Marc – Ekliptyka/Ekstern) took possession of the arena and raised our hopes for victory. However, the highest podium was not for him. This time Al Jazeera and Pustynia Kahila were also eclipsed by the gold Morion and beautifully moving Equator.

Ladies first

On Friday the competition started with yearling fillies. In class A the first place with 9.30 points went to Rewayah Athbah  (EKS Alihandro – Fedora RG/WH Justice), the second to Sultanat Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab – OFW Mishaahl/Mishaah), and the third to Mimi NK (Nofal NK – Cinnamon N Spice VLA/First Cyte). The Polish representative, Janów’s Adelita (Kahil Al Shaqab – Altamira/Ekstern) came fourth with a score of 92.00 points.

In group B we had three girls from the same Janów stable:  Bambina (Kahil Al Shaqab – Bellisa/Poganin), Petula (Kahil Al Shaqab – Pinga/Gazal Al Shaqab) and Prunella (Abyad AA – Pradera/Hlayyil Ramadan). Bambina came fifth (91.80 points) and was the only one of the trio to make it to the finals. Prunella and Petula came sixth and seventh respectively. The winner in this group was Jayda Al Rabi (Majd Al Rabi – Shatha Al Rabi/Marwan Al Shaqab) with 92.80 points, immediately followed by D Shireen (Kahil Al Shaqab – Magic Mon Amour/Windsprees Mirage) and then by Bohour Al Shaqab (Kahil Al Shaqab – Wind Kamelia/WH Justice).

The final for yearling fillies was no surprise. Gold was awarded to Rewayah Athbah  from the  Athbah Stud, silver to Sultanat Al Shaqab  and bronze to Mozn Al Bidayer (S.M.A. Magic One – Mattaharii/Magnum Chall HVP), who came fourth in Class B.

Among junior mares Janów’s Al Jazeera  (Kahil Al Shaqab – Alhasa/Ganges) and Michałów’s Pustynia Kahila (Kahil Al Shaqab - Pustynna Malwa/Ekstern) competed in Group A. the Michałów mare came fourth and made it to the finals. Al Jazeera came sixth. The first place went to Bint Hazy Al Khalediah (El Palacio VO – Hazy Al Khalediah/F Shamaal) with a score of 93.10 pointst, the secondo to Om El Aisha Aljassimya (WH Justice – Om El Aliha/Om Al Azeem), and the third to Elle Flamenca (Ajman Moniscione – Allamara MA).

The finals of junior mares will certainly be long remembered by the breeders and owners of the mare D Shahla (Marajj – FT Shaella/ Shael Dream Desert), who left Paris with gold. The silver medal and second highest place on the podium was given to  Bint Hazy Al Khalediah, and bronze to Omel Aisha Aljassimya (WH Justice – OM EL Aliha/ OM EL AL Azeem) from the Al Jassimya Farm.

Senior mares

Finally the time came for senior mares. We supported our representatives in Class A, Michałów’s Wieża Mocy (QR Marc - Wieża Marzeń/Ekstern) who came third (92.30), and Janów mares, Potentilla (Ekstern – Panonia /Eukaliptus), fourth with 92.20 points and Euzona (Om El Bellissimo – Euzetia /Etogram), who won 91.40 points and the sixth place, making it to the finals with Wieża Mocy and Euzona. Michałów’s Zigi Zana (QR Marc – Zagrobla/Monogramm) and Wabia (Al Lahab – Wasa/WH Justice) from Falborek Arabians of Mrs and Mr Goździalski, which also competed in this group, came ninth and tenth. The winner was Orfa D’Arab KA (QR Marc – OSO Axotica/Monogramm) with 93.20 points, the runner up Klassical Dream MI (Klass – Mustang's Magnum/Magnum Forty Four).

In Group B Poland was represented by Michałów’s Wilda (Gazal Al Shaqab – Wilga/ Ekstern). The mare came fourth, which guaranteed her a place in the finals.  In this group the undisputed winner was Al Zobair (Marajj – Esklawa/Eukaliptus), which won as many as ten „20-ties”, including a whole series for type, which translated into a total score of 94.4 points. Gold in the finals only confirmed this mare’s excellent form. The second place went to Abha Qalams (Alfabia Damascus – Abha Mudira/Marwan Al Shaqab), and the third to FM Gloriaa (WH Justice – Psity of Angels/Psytadel). In the finals these mares came next to Salwa Al Zobair, with a silver and bronze medal respectively.

Enter the dragons - Morion and Equator

On Saturday the arena belonged to the stallions. Yearling colts were not represented in a large number, and unfortunately no Polish horses were among them. Group A saw five horses, Group B only four. The first place in Group A went to AJ Azzam (AJ Mardan – Ysadora/Marwan Al Shaqab) who scored 93.83 points. He was immediately followed by Luigi (Kanz Albidayer – Lolita/Om El Bahreyn). In group B the winner was Alexxanderr (Excalibur EA – AR Most Irresistible/ML Mostly Padron) with 93.50 points, the runner up Jalalem Aljassimya (WH Justice – Annaiss) with 92.67 points.

Aj Azzam was making his way to the finals from the very beginning, and succeeded in winning gold at the end. He left the winner of Group B, Alexxanderr, behind, who left Paris with a silver medal, and Luigi, the bronze medalist.

Finally the long awaited junior stallions came in, and among them a real star, Michałów’s Morion (Kahil Al Shaqab – Mesalina/Ekstern) leased by the Al Thumama Stud from Qatar. Morion won the highest place in the class and as well as in the finals with a score of 93.17 points, and left Gallardo J (Emerald J – Gomera/Ekstern) and EKS Amir (EKS Alihandro – EKS Lady Dauphine/Patrician B) behind. In Group B the winner was Equiborn KA (QR Marc – Espadrilla/Monogramm) with 93.00 points, immediately followed by EKS Mansour (EKS Alihandro – EKS Phateena/ WN Star of Antigua), and then by Cadance PA (Cavalli – Donatella/Versace). The winner of Group B won the silver medal in the finals, the bronze going to Gallardo J.

In the senior stallions class Equator (QR Marc – Ekliptyka/Ekstern) took complete possession of the arena and „20-ties” were showered on him from all sides! Five „20-ties ” were given for movement, with a total of 13 x „20”. Michałów’s stallion was entirely outstanding, and with a total score of 94.92 points won the record of the show! Behind him were Hariry Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab – White Silkk/Dakar El Jamaal) (93.92 points) and E.S. Harir (AJ Dinar – TF Magnums Magic/Magnum Psyche) (93.83 points), who came second and third respectively.. In Group B victory went to Mountassar Al Zobair (Khidar – Falha Al Shaqab/Gazal Al Shaqab), who won 93.33 points.  The runner up was Aja Justified (WH Justice – Aja Beneja/FS Bengali) and the second runner up Adham Saqr (Imperial Madori – Ameera Saqr/Shaheen).

After the emotional Saturday and Equator’s excellent performance our expectations were high, and unfortunately unsatisfied. Sunday’s senior stallions final, although a great success, was nonetheless a bit of a disappointment. Despite an evident large group of fans Equator came second to Harira Al Shaqab, who won gold. Michałów stallion won the silver medal and the title of best mover in the show. Bronze was awarded to E.S. Harir.

One of the great memories of this year’s Paris show will be the performance of Janów’s Pinga (Gazal Al Shaqab – Pilar/Fawor) with Paweł Kozikowski, who was awarded the title of Platinum World Champion. Pinga is currently leased by the Al Jawza Stud. Special prizes for best breeder were also given to SK Michałów.

The World Championship in Paris was a real show of force of equity titans, where the victory scales can tip in a surprising direction. There is no doubt that this year the gentlemen stole the show. Mares, despite the great effort, did not shine so bright.
