VI POLISH SPORT CHAMPIONSHIP AND AUTUMN PURE-BRED ARABIAN SHOW IN JANÓW PODLASKI
On the October weekend of 10 – 12.10 the 2014 Autumn Arabian Auction took place in Janów Podlaski. It was combined with the Autumn Arabian Show and the Polish Pure-bred Arabian Sport Championship 2014. The contestants participated in Dressage, Show Jumping, Hunter Pleasure and Classic Pleasure classes, and in a Ladies English Side Saddle competition. It was the lady riders in their magnificent gowns who attracted most attention. The colourfull autumn leaves floating in the air made a superb background for them. In fact what place other than Janów can make a more beautiful setting for welcoming autumn?
The semi-finals took place on Friday (10.10). On the following day, Saturday (11.10), the competitors participated in the finals. Due to the small number of entries the Western style competitions did not take place. The results of the Junior Dressage finals were as follows: the third place was awarded to the combination Aneta Powroźnik and the grey Kabsztad (Poganin – Kwestura/Monogramm), the second to Marta Matysik and Edinet (Włodarz – Ellila/Wachlarz). This combination also won the silver in the Hunter Pleasure class. The winners of the class were Magda Kowaluk and Mandragora (Gaspar – Martyna/Europejczyk). Magda and Mandragora also won the Classic Pleasure and Hunter Pleasure classes . In the Native Costume competition the bronze medal went to Ilona Ciara on Minden (Perlik – Minoa/Santhos), the silver to Marta Matysik this time with Inner (Gorec – Indonesia/Santhos), and the gold medal was awarded to Karolina Mikołajczuk and Gasler (Eukariont – Gwiazdka/Harbin). In one of the most interesting competitions, Polish Historical Costume, the third place and the bronze medal went to Marta Matysik and Inner, the silver to Aneta Powroźnik and Kabsztad, while the gold medal was awarded to Zuzanna Makarewicz and her grey stallion Etuin (Etogram – Euzebia / Palas).
In the Seniors category in Dressage the gold winning combination was Agnieszka Romszycka and Edinet (Włodarz – Ellila/Wachlarz). The runners up were Alicja Poszepczyńska and Galahad (Werbum – Granada / Monogramm) and the second runners up Agnieszka Kolek – Kowieska and Alert (Piaff – Andaluzja/Sanadik El Shaklan). The latter combination in turn won gold in the Hunter Pleasure class. In addition the same rider won gold in the Polish Historical Costume and Classic Pleasures classes with Almanzor (El Nabila B – Alantina/Emigrant). In the Ladies English Side Saddle class the silver and gold medal were awarded to Danuta Konończuk and Ekier (Metropolis NA – Emika/Eldon) (złoto) and Agnieszka Helbik-Kuśmierz and El – Jad (Etogram – Elina/Etnograf) and Piaff (Eldon – Pipi/Banat) respectively. On Sunday (12.10), during the Autumn Pure bred Arabian Auction, 66 horses were offered, of which 37 found new owners.
This was the sixth edition of the Polish Pure-bred Arabian Sport Championship in Janów. The event is an excellent opportunity to prove that the beauty of Polish Arabians goes hand in hand with their all-around capabilities.
And it provided another opportunity to take a nostalgic look at the Janów fields covered with light autumn mist, and to carry this beautiful picture away with us, if only for a fleeting moment. Remembering the poem of Julian Tuwin “The autumn starts with mimosas…” we may change it slightly to „The autumn starts in Janów…”. Anyone who has visited Janów at least once knows, that this place attracts like a magnet …
