XXXII NATIONS CUP IN AACHEN

Polish pure-bred Arabian horses constantly prove that they are unequalled. Both the Nations’ Cup as well as the Breeders’ Cup fell into Polish hands! This was the eighth time in history that Poland won the Nation’s Cup, Lady Harmsworth’s Trophy, and the fifth time we took the Breeder’s Cup, that is Major Hedley’s Trophy. The Dąbrowski Mazurka was indeed a delight to our ears…

The XXXII Nations’ Cup in Aachen took place on 27 – 28 September, the organizer of this prestigious event being the German Arabian Breeder’s Union. Our representatives left Poland on Tuesday. The group included horses from SK Michałów, SK Janów Podlaski, Falborek Arabians Stud of Mr and Mrs Goździalski and Chrcynno-Pałac of Mr and Mrs Poszepczyński, Best Arabians of Mr W. Parczewski and Mr and Mrs M. J. Pietrzak.

6 judges were chosen for each class out of a Ground Jury of 10, composed of Julie Bridges – United Kingdom, Deborah Cain – USA, Silvia Garde-Ehlert – Germany, Marie-Louise van Wyk – RSA, Nashaat Hegazy – Egypt, Luiz Eduardo Moreira Caio – Brazil, Cristian Moschini – Italy, Marco Pittaluga – Italy, Peter Pond – Australia and Tamás Rombauer – Hungary.

In class A of Yearling Fillies Ceranova (Kahil Al Shaqab – Cerinola/Ecaho) of Janów Podlaski was placed second with a score of 91.92. The first place went to the Saudi filly Sultana AM (Maharani HDM – Dana Al Mohamadia/Ajman Moniscione) with a score of 92.00. In class B the Polish contestants did not go unnoticed: Al Jazeera (Kahil Al Shaqab – Alhasa/Ganges) came second. This filly from Janów, in the hands of her presenter Paweł Kozikowski, was a delightful mover, which was reflected in her scores, a full set of four 20s for movement! Just behind her, in third position, was Pustynia Kahila from Michałów. The first place was awarded to Aj Sawari (Marwan Al Shaqab  - Siberia SA / Nuzyr HCF ) from the Ajman Stud.

Class A of Yearling Colts was dominated by Polish horses due to Morion from Michałów (Kahil Al Shaqab – Mesalina/Ekstern), who came first (93.25 including 3 x „20” for type) and Lord El Shawan (FA El Shawan – Lady Serenada/Ekstern) bred by Małgorzata and Józef Pietrzak, which came second. In class B of Yearling Colts the winner was D Mshary (QR Marc – FT Shaella/Shael Dream Desert).

In the two-year-old fillies class the first place went to Penelope K.A. (QR Marc – Polonia/Ekstern) with a score of 93.5. Patria (Eden C – Palmeta/ Ecaho) from Janów came fourth with a score of 92.17. In the two-year-old colts class the winner was D Khattaf (Royal Colours – D Jowan/Marwan Al Shaqab) from Dubai. In the three-year-old fillies class the winner was Inspired Najla (Ajman Moniscione – Natalia/Narym). The winner of the three-year-old colts class was Excalibur E.A (Ecaho - Essence of Marwan E.A./ Marwan Al Shaqab). However, Psyche Keret (Khidar - Psyche Victoria/ Ekstern) from SK Chrcynno-Pałac deserves special attention, with a total score of 92.25 including four 20s for movement, which ultimately placed him third.

Sunday was the competition scene for 4-6 year-old mares. Among them Diara  (Eryks – Diaspora/Ganges) from Michałów delighted all and with three 20s for movement was second only to Alma Al Tiglio (Ajman Moniscione – Amanda Al Tiglio/Shamilah Masai Mara). The fourth place went to Zigi – Zana (QR Marc – Zagrobla/Monogramm) of SK Michałów, the fifth to Echo Aurora (Eternity Ibn Navarrone-D – Echo Afrodyta/Piaff) from Chrcynno Pałac.

Pepita (Ekstern – Pepesza/Eukaliptus)from Janów was the undisputed winner in the 7-10 year old mares class, with an impressive score of 94.75 including only 20s for movement, five for type and two for head and neck. The third was Psyche Victoria (Ekstern – Pallas Atena/Ecaho) from SK Chrcynno-Pałac.

The 11 year-old mares class belonged wholly to Michałów celebrities. The 19 year-old Kwestura (Monogramm – Kwesta/Pesennik) owned by the Ajman Stud and bred by SK Michałów stole the the arts of all. She scored a full set of 20s for type and movement and five for head and neck. The first and second runners up were also Michałów mares, Emira (Laheeb – Embra/Monogramm) and the delightful Georgia (Monogramm – Gizela/Palas), respectively. In the 4 – 6 years old stallions class the winner, with a score of 94.17, was Equator (QR Marc – Ekliptyka/Ekstern) from Michałów.
